During the fierce battle, Gaara is forced to face his own father, the Fourth Kazekage, Rasa. As the fight unfolds, Rasa witnesses how much Gaara has grown and realizes that his son has become a respected Kazekage who has earned the trust of his people. Meanwhile, Naruto and Killer Bee encounter the reanimated Itachi Uchiha and Nagato on their way to the battlefield. Although bound by Edo Tensei, Itachi struggles against Kabuto's control and is ultimately freed by Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan, which had been entrusted to Naruto through a crow. Itachi immediately joins forces with Naruto and Killer Bee to battle Nagato. Working together, the three successfully destroy Chibaku Tensei, and Itachi seals Nagato with the Totsuka Blade. Before disappearing, Nagato entrusts Naruto with the hope of bringing true peace to the ninja world.
