Ecoboost Mild Hybrid Technology New Ford Puma | Ford UK
A new age of cleaner hybrid electric vehicles is here, and the New Ford Puma embodies this with the self-charging EcoBoost Mild Hybrid option. The Mild Hybrid system in the Puma uses a 48V battery and electric motor to support the combustion engine. This delivers increased torque, improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. At low speeds, Stop-In-Gear technology can switch off the engine when the clutch and brake are pressed. The Puma will then coast while still in gear, further reducing emissions. And when you need accelerate again, the electric motor can restart the engine in around 300 milliseconds – the blink of an eye. And there’s no need to connect Puma to an external power source, as the 48V battery that powers the electric motor is recharged while you drive.
