How I grow Hydroponic Peppers, 3 ways
Hey everybody, thanks for checking out another weekly update of my hydroponic greenhouse, this is the tenth week of growth this year, but a special episode today about the 3 methods I use to grow hydroponic peppers. I made my greenhouse 6 years ago when recovering from chemo. The first two years, I just did the typical soil in pots, but 4 years ago I decided to give hydroponics a shot. I did a lot of research, taking notes while watching various methods of hydroponics. I chose the 3 methods I thought would work for my space and needs. First off, I knew I wanted Dutch Buckets to grow the larger items, peppers included (love making my own hot sauces!) I'm using 14 Dutch buckets now. Next was some "rails" as I call them, but they are called NFT (the original NFT) tubes which stands nor Nutrient Film Technique. This system is great for smaller pepper plants as well as lettuces and other greens. With the extra spaces I have, I wanted to try some Kratky buckets. These are the easiest ones, as it's just nutrients and water in a darkened container. These can be a small container that sits in your window sill, to home depot sized totes with multiple holes for different plants (which I use inside to start plants off) to large containers that can pretty much be left alone for most of the season. I use the General Hydroponics Flora series nutrients, as it's been really easy (a shooter glass of each once per week), and everything has tasted delicious using them, so why change. They're usually around $60CDN for the three bottles. Thanks to Brock at https://www.biggergarden.com for reaching out to me to do this video, much appreciated. Here's the link to the More Peppers shirt design I made recently: https://www.redbubble.com/i/t-shirt/M... While I've been out of the greenhouse, I've been making a ton of art lately using Procreate on my iPad, lots of neat shirt designs (and some gardening/hydroponics designs) which can all be found at: https:/www.redbubble.com/people/DaveDanchuk/shop?asc=u or https://www.teepublic.com/stores/dave... Both have regular sales, but shipping costs may differ, do some comparisons perhaps... Other places to find me are here: https://www.linktr.ee/davedanchuk If you're on reddit, all these videos are in a group called: / hydroponicgreenhouses Feel free to share your spaces if you have one, I'd love to see them. Please leave a comment if there's something you'd like me to show on a future episode. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
