For example, the tombs of Mbah Bantarbolang and his two students, Ki Pandan Jati and Ki Palintaran. The people of Bantarbolang believe Mbah Bantarbolang to be their ancestor. His tomb is always visited by many people, as are the tombs of his two students. Moreover, the three tombs are located close to each other. All three are buried in hilly terrain beneath which a river flows. However, because Ki Pandan Jati is believed to be a prominent figure in Mataram, his tomb is the most visited. The Pemalang Regency Government and the Bantarbolang community always commemorate the Wungon event every evening on August 17th. During this event, which has become a tradition for generations, local community leaders usually read the history of Ki Pandan Jati's tomb. It is said that Ki Pandan Jati was a prominent figure in the Mataram Kingdom. However, accused of corruption and sentenced to life imprisonment, he exiled himself to the west, specifically to the Bantarbolang forest. It was while in the forest that he met Mbah Bantarbolang and was allowed to stay at his house. Convinced that Ki Pandan Jati was a good man, he was then taken on as a disciple and trained by Mbah Bantarbolang. Along with Mbah Bantarbolang's other disciple, Ki Palintaran, Ki Pandan Jati emerged as a very strong individual, both physically and mentally. Both became Mbah Bantarbolang's favorite students and inherited all of their teacher's knowledge. In fact, it is said that both became powerful figures, able to foresee future events. Wow, impressive, huh? When Mbah Bantarbolang intended to find a successor, he tested his two disciples. Mbah Bantarbolang secretly left the hermitage. This was intended to give Ki Pandan Jati and Ki Palintaran the opportunity to lead the hermitage together. The passing of Mbah Bantarbolang undoubtedly left all his students devastated. Ki Pandan Jati and Ki Palintaran then set out to find him. However, Ki Pandan Jati, possessing a sharper inner vision, managed to locate his teacher. Unfortunately, Mbah Bantarbolang was reluctant to return as a teacher and asked Ki Pandan Jati to lead his hermitage. Following his teacher's wishes, Ki Pandan Jati led the hermitage until his death and was buried in Bantarbolang Village. However, some believe that Ki Pandan Jati's tomb in Bantarbolang is merely a relic. It is said that Ki Pandan Jati traveled south to spread Islam and eventually returned to Mataram. He returned and was accepted into Mataram after it was discovered that the corruption charges against him were false. To reach Ki Pandan Jati's tomb, you can use private or public transportation. If coming from the west, after entering Pemalang City and passing the town square, turn right. But if you're coming from the east, turn left at the traffic light before Pemalang Square. The journey continues several tens of kilometers south through the hilly area on the main Bantarbolang-Randudongkal-Bobotsari road. After that, turn right at Bantarbolang Market and head straight onto the road that leads to the tomb of Ki Pandan Jati.
