Remedios Varo | Encuentros

This film was created to commemorate the momentous occasion of Remedios Varo’s second posthumous solo gallery exhibition, Remedios Varo: Encuentros, on view at Gallery Wendi Norris, May 11 - July 15, 2023.  The works on view in the exhibition are of unparalleled quality. Visitors are in awe, and for those at a distance, we hope this film will convey the eleven exceptional pieces in fine detail and illustrate Varo's extraordinary technical prowess and fantastical explorations. It is a distinct pleasure to share the gallery's long history with the artist and her work, and to bring the encounter with the show to life through this film.  The fact that her oeuvre is modest in size and, until recently, that her work has not been heavily exhibited, makes it all the more exciting to have the opportunity to present Encuentros to the public and have others experience the mastery and magic of Remedios Varo. We hope to highlight Varo’s ability to startle and enchant, and to welcome visitors and viewers of this film into the madcap and marvelous universe that she created. Film by New Revolution Media.
