The Castelo de São Jorge has centuries of stories and much humbler beginnings
Towering over Lisbon high up on one of the city's highest hills is the Castelo de São Jorge, a gothic castle that has roots dating back as far back as the 10th century. Today the building is an icon of Lisbon and a popular tourist destination. It's also an active archeological site and scientists have found evidence of humans here dating back to the iron age. Besta and Steve tour the castle and give you some highlights from its fascinating and unique history. Music: Beethoven: Moonlight Sonata, Op. 25 No. 2-1. Adagio sostenuto Telemann - Concerto No. 2-Grave
