Welcome to an interesting world. Let me tell you about an island where time has stopped. It's the most isolated place on Earth, and its inhabitants are one of the last tribes without any contact with the outside world. I'm talking about the inhabitants of North Sentinel. 🏝️ Imagine that for thousands of years, these people have refused to make contact with people off the island. Not only do they not have phones or internet, they don't even know how big the world they live in is. They probably also have no idea why the sun rises every morning only to sink below the horizon again in the evening. What do they think is beyond the horizon? Beyond what they see from their island? Monsters? Evil spirits? The edge of the world? 🌅👻 Perhaps they think about what they see the way we think about the universe—that it's infinite and there might be other life forms within it? Or maybe they think their little island is the center of everything and the only place where life is possible? Perhaps they are truly as advanced as the Mayans and created their own calendar based on the movement of the stars? 🌌 Although they live among us, we know virtually nothing about them. What do they consider the meaning of life, what is their purpose, why do they even exist, who or what do they think created the world they live in? Do they even think about these topics, or is their biggest problem hunting food and surviving? Although we've known about their existence for hundreds of years, we still don't know the answers to these questions. We don't even know the basics of their language. This indigenous people of a small island shoot arrows at anyone who approaches their piece of land. Many have already lost their lives this way. One of the latest victims was 26-year-old John Allen Chau. He was an American missionary who considered the North Sentinel to be, in this quote, "Satan's last bastion on Earth." How did he die and what did he write in his journal? Read more about that in the article. The last person to set foot on the island and survive was American YouTuber Mykhailo Polyakov. He is still in custody awaiting sentencing for his actions. You may have heard these stories before, but have you heard that a Royal Navy officer who enjoyed taking photos of the genitals of local tribes also visited the island? 🤨 Or have you heard about the ship that crashed near the island, and its crew had to fend off an attack by Sentinelese people while their captain escaped in a small boat?
