Basic GS Rules
Alpine Skiing GS Rules of Correct Passage - old rules of GS which allowed hiking. Hiking in any GS race is now prohibited. If a racer comes to a complete stop, for example to start hiking back or as a result of a fall - that racer must not continue on course. If a racer misses a gate in GS and passes beyond the gate, they may not hike back up hill to clear the gate.
