Ubaíra is a city in the state of Bahia located in the Jequié Micro-region, founded in 1832. It is at an altitude of 324 meters, and is 270 km from Salvador, capital of the state, with an estimated population of 19,860 inhabitants. Ubaíra – the name comes from the Tupi-Guarani which means “Honey of Pau”. Saint Vincent Ferrer is the patron saint, the image arrived in 1874, brought by a family of Italians.
