Dream Theater - Breaking All Illusions - 8-Bit NES-style remix

Hello! Long time no see. Life's been busy as per usual, but I got the itch to do this one and thought I'd give it a go. Very happy with the result. This is also the first one of my covers where every single part of the process (transcription, conversion to MIDI, NES soundfont application and trimming down the sounds) was done in Linux as I'm attempting to detach my personal computer use from the Microsoft ecosystem as much as possible. Now that I've proved to myself that it works 100%, I can confidently say that no amount of weird Windows updates will ever put my 8-bit cover workflow at risk, which has been a concern as some of the software I use is getting pretty old at this point and who knows when it'll no longer be compatible with the latest version... --- I adhered to the NES limit of 4 maximum simultaneous sounds (technically it's 5, but I use two combined for the kick drum as did most NES composers), which means that in order to accurately represent the chords, I had to arpeggiate some parts and harmonise with the bass in others.
