When I arrived, she was outside collecting firewood while her grandchild waited for her inside their small stone cabin. Maryam faces hardship every single day, but she never gives up. Despite the challenges, she continues to work with courage and hope, dreaming of a better future for her grandchild. Today, Maryam baked traditional oak bread over an open fire, and she and her grandchild shared a simple meal together in their mountain home. Later, she began expanding the yard around their stone cabin. While moving heavy rocks, one of them fell on her foot, leaving it bruised and painful. Even with injured feet, Maryam refused to stop.
