Dear Pianist

All things Levi The Poet here: http://www.levithepoet.net In 2010, I toured the West Coast for two months, heading north to Seattle, where I proposed to my wife in Espresso Vivace Cafe, at their Brix location on Capitol Hill. I outlined both of our hands overlapping in a journal, and drew a shaky ring on her finger before sloppily writing "will you marry me?" with a hand too nervous for perfect lines. My wife, my dear pianist, recorded this with me with the help of our friend Drew Schrimsher, in a living room in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We did it in one take with a lav mic that stabbed me in the neck and plugged into an iPhone I had in my back pocket. Then we talked together on a porch that overlooked the city. It was fun.
