The name UNIDOL originates from "UNIversity iDOL," and it is a competition held under the concept of "ordinary female university students taking to the stage as 'idols' for one night only." The first competition was held in 2012. The scale has expanded year by year, and currently, national preliminary rounds are held in five regions across Japan: Hokkaido, Kanto, Tokai, Kansai, and Kyushu. The annual attendance exceeds 25,000 people, and it has grown into Japan's number one student event. Previously, leading Japanese idol groups such as AKB48, =LOVE, and Juice=Juice have appeared as guests, adding excitement to the competition. -- ◆Theme of this competition The theme of this competition is "Sweet and cute is the ultimate reward ♡".
