Stoke City Centre Hotel – Women & Children? Asylum Seekers? What’s Inside

🇬🇧 We visited the Best Western Stoke‑on‑Trent City Centre Hotel in Hanley, a centrally‑located 3‑star hotel. There was heavy security at the entrance with SERCO signage, and at the door we overheard a man speaking Portuguese while deciding what to order for dinner. Inside we saw women and children, but also many angry adult men speaking Portuguese, Spanish and Urdu. Things became tense when security realised we were filming. One guard attempted to go hands‑on before DP stepped in to calm the situation. At the back of the hotel, on steps leading to a public car park and right of way, a man shouting “no camera” became aggressive. A chef who works at the hotel stepped in and calmed it. It was also good to see nearby businesses flying their flags, showing pride in the local community. Drone footage at the end of the video shows the size of the hotel and its extension.
