Survivors of The Shoah Visual History Foundation: Itzhak Kotkowski Full Interview 1998

The project "Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation" was started by Stephen Spielberg after the release of the film "Schindler's List." Through this project, hundreds of Holocaust survivors' stories and testimonies have been immortalized, granting future generations the opportunity to experience a direct connection with history. Itzhak Kotkowski's story is told through the eyes of a 17-year-old Polish boy who, at the outset of WWII, refused to remain in Nazi-occupied Poland and instead found himself in Soviet Russia. There he faced the wrath of the Soviet Union, a lesser known story than those about the horrors of the Nazi extermination camps. This interview took place in May 1998, Kotkowski passed away in August, 2008.
