If you have pain on the outside of your hip when lying on your side, walking, or climbing stairs, you may have gluteal tendinopathy (also called greater trochanteric pain syndrome – GTPS). In this video, I explain how to safely start a 12-week progressive strengthening program designed to reduce pain, improve hip stability, and promote tendon remodeling. Research, including the landmark study by Alison Mellor et al. (2018), shows that exercise, education, and load management are more effective long-term than corticosteroid injections for gluteal tendinopathy.
