A single boiler coffee machine has one boiler for making espresso and the same boiler is used to make steam. The temperature to make coffee is lower than that to steam milk based drinks. I have the ECM classika PID machine and will show you how to swap the modes from espresso making to steaming a milk based drink. I then swap back to the espresso making mode and show how to swap the water temperature settings from espresso to steaming back to the espresso. Why buy single boiler machine? Smaller bench space foot print, much lower cost than a dual boiler machine and less power cost to have this running all the time . Single boiler and less to break down.
