Fiesta conquers Pike's Peak
The Pike's Peak highway in Colorado provides one of the sternest motorsport challenges in the USA. The 12.4 mile drive to the summit has 156 turns and climbs 14,000 feet. Once a year, some of the world's finest cars and drivers compete to get to the top in the fastest time. This year, double World Rally champion Marcus Gronholm took up the challenge. Gronholm overcame a turbo problem and diverse road and weather conditions to power his 800hp Fiesta to the top in just under 11.5 minutes. It was a performance that gave him second place in the 'Unlimited Class' and earned him the title of 'Rookie of the year'. Not bad for a first-timer. / fordeu
