Lü Bu (died 199 CE) was a general and warlord during the late Eastern Han Dynasty renowned for his exceptional combat prowess. A native of the Jiuyuan region on China's northern border, he was known as a highly respected horseman and archer. Historically, Lü Bu initially served Ding Yuan, but later turned against his master and joined Dong Zhuo. He soon betrayed Dong Zhuo and played a role in his assassination in 192 CE. Despite his formidable military prowess, Lü Bu was known for his political instability and frequent changes of allegiance. He conquered several key territories in central China, but failed to establish a strong power base due to conflicts with his allies and subordinates. In 198–199 CE, he was besieged by the forces of Cao Cao and Liu Bei at Xiapi. After being captured, Lü Bu was executed in 199 CE.
