Axemen’s club faces the chop 'It's a privilege to pick up the axe' 🌲🪓 | ABC Australia

The Midland Axemens Association has been sourcing wood from its state forest coupe in Victoria's south-west for decades. The Victorian Government is mulling over a decision to convert that state forest into national park, a change environmental groups have been calling for nearly ten years, and one that has been recommended by the Victorian Environmental Assessment Council. Harold Suckling, his son Gary, and grandson Jordan represent three generations of axemen involved in the club; they say it could fold if the VEAC recommendations are adopted.
