The Will to Power: a Metaphysical Ontological Principle
Nietzsche wanted to destroy all idols but he created a new one: the will to power. Conservative German Philosopher Ludwig Klages points out that Nietzsche made this his "will to power" into a metaphysical ontological principle. Moreover, the Will to Power was always a monist principle. Hence, for Nietzsche it was confronted only by another Will to Power. Its emancipation, therefore, was contingent on the enslavement of others. This means that the liberal interpretation of the Will to Power as purely self-overcoming is simply untenable. #nietzsche #philosophy
