This time, I finally embarked on the pilgrimage route taken by Jews 2,000 years ago to the Temple in Jerusalem. This route ascends from the Pool of Siloam, ending at the site of the Second Temple. Pilgrims would first purify themselves at the Pool of Siloam, then sing the Psalms of Ascents (Psalms 120–134) as they made their way to the Temple. What's even more special is that this true pilgrimage route has only recently been partially excavated and officially opened to the public. Many who have visited Israel before have not seen what it looks like today.
