Since I was running a full red DPS build with basically no healing, I spent quite a while thinking about solutions— and ended up using that Exotic Holster. Ideally, I wanted to clear it using a Sheriff-only restriction, but time was looking pretty rough, so partway through I allowed myself to use my secondary weapon, the Lexington.
