The first pack I bought was Exodus, and the rares I got were "Hatred" and "Mirrie, Cat Warrior." For the next six years or so, I became completely hooked, building various decks like MOMA, nWo, and Illusion, and playing almost every day. I even participated in tournaments. My favorite card is "Living Dead (Tempest ver.)." The effect made a huge impact when a friend first used it, and I can't get enough of the beautiful, story-like illustration. I also like "Necropotence" and "Verdant Mana"...the list goes on and on! My first digital MTG game was the questionable Japanese version of Magic: The Gathering (commonly known as Shandalar), a packaged PC game sold around the time Windows XP first came out. It included old cards from the Alpha and Beta versions, and was a pretty hardcore game where you walked through the wilderness, encountering enemies that appeared and you fought them. Then, when a digital version containing the 6th edition was released for the Dreamcast, I bought it immediately. I enjoyed it quite a bit. After some time had passed, I recently returned to it on MTG Arena. It's the best experience ever, incomparable to any digital game! It's the ultimate game, allowing you to play stress-free matchmaking with players from all over the world, and not only Constructed, but also Limited formats like Draft and Sealed, which are rarely available even in digital formats! Many people have returned to MTG through Arena. After returning to Arena, I was invited to appear live on WotC's official MTG broadcast in 2021. This prompted me to return to paper with EDH! Believing that playing paper requires a community, I started a "low-pitched server" on Discord and am currently running it with friends.
