A stye is a small, fluid-filled sac on the inside of the eyelid that can be very irritating. It's typically a bacterial infection, but it can also be viral. Styes are a very common problem, but many people aren't sure what to do. The information I'm going to share today can also be related to boils or abscesses. The most common white blood cell is the neutrophil, and it's your primary defense against infection. The neutrophil will typically go in and actually eat any harmful bacteria. However, if you've consumed too much sugar, are prediabetic, or have diabetes, neutrophils almost always go after sugar instead of infection. One of the worst things you can do when you have a stye is consume everything sugary. What you might want to do is cut all sugar from your diet.
