Bessborough Plans Spark Debate Over The Site’s Future

Amid reports that the Government will reflect on the decision to grant planning permission for apartments on part of the former Bessborough Mother and Baby Home site in Cork, the panel debates what should happen to the land. With the remains of 859 children still unaccounted for, survivors and families continue to seek answers and closure. Should the site be developed, preserved as a memorial or transformed into a public park?
