This time, I got to ride a Vespa from the Italian company PIAGGIO! It's called the "Ape" over there. Restored by "Nirin Kobo" in Moriyama City, this retro three-wheeled truck follows on from the Daihatsu Midget I previously rode. Inside, you'll find the famous Vespa scooter! Its flat handlebars make it look nothing like a truck. Starting the engine requires a firm pull on a lever instead of a kick pedal, the clutch and gears are controlled by the handlebars like a motorcycle, and reverse gears are controlled by a unique lever...
