PRIMUL AUTOBUZ ELECTRIC IN CRAIOVA

The first electric bus will be circulating on the streets of Craiova in the coming days. It is another important step towards the modernization of the city's public transport base, which in the last eight years has been renewed by over 70 percent with state-of-the-art means, through purchases made by Craiova City Hall. Another 15 electric buses will enter the fleet of the Autonomous Transport Authority of Craiova by July. Craiova residents will have the opportunity to travel in the city in particularly comfortable and safe conditions after the municipality purchased the first batch of electric buses through a contract financed with European funds. The new electric bus has multiple features and amenities for passengers - it is equipped with air conditioning, video surveillance, charging sockets for phones and laptops, and an audio unit for voice announcements. The 16 electric buses will be gradually introduced, until July, on the longest and busiest routes in Craiova, namely 9, 3 and 1. Craiova City Hall is preparing a new project with European funds for the purchase of another 200 electric buses, of which 100 for the metropolitan area and 100 for school transport.
