Best of Legends Grand Prix 2025 at Salzburgring: W12 Nardò, 33 Stradale, 90 IMSA GTO, XJR-5, RX-3!

The first Legend Grand Prix was certainly one of the most pleasant surprises of 2025. Held at the Salzburgring, in Austria, last October, this event was fully focused on celebrating historic, unique and legendary cars, together with the drivers of the past who led them to victory, in a relaxed atmosphere without actual competitions. Over the three days, groups of cars divided by type and era took turns on the track in free practice sessions to which car clubs and parades in honour of Niki Lauda were added. Not only private owners and drivers of historic vehicles took part in the event but also some official car manufacturers such as Porsche, Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Alpine with their respective departments of iconic vehicles. It's no coincidence that some of the most interesting cars came from them: the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO, the recreation of the Mercedes 'Rote Sau', the Porsche 935/77. These were joined by current drivers and legends from the past who delighted the public during the track sessions: Karl Wendlinger, Hans-Joachim Stuck, Tom Kristensen, Ferdinand Habsburg, Rudi Lins, to name a few. Numerous important vehicles were also put on display in the paddock but, unfortunately, they remained static for all three days. First and foremost, the Volkswagen W12 Nardò record car and the Porsche 804 Formula 1 car. I really hope there will be a second edition in the next few years because the first one was really excellent and well organized. Now enjoy some sights and sounds from the Austrian circuit!
