The Panguni Uthiram Serthi Seva at Srirangam is one of the most emotionally charged and beautiful festivals in the Sri Vaishnava tradition. It marks the divine union of Lord Namperumal (Sri Ranganatha) and Goddess Ranganayaki Thayar. It symbolizes the "Divine Quarrel" (Pranaya Kalaham) and subsequent reconciliation. The Lord, having been out on a procession, returns to the Thayar’s shrine. She, playfully "angry" at his long absence, shuts the doors.
