Security companies to face fire from Namibia Security Guard and Watchmen's Union
The Namibia Security Guard and Watchmen's Union has spoke out about a number of security companies that do not comply to the labour law. The union claims that small security companies are continuously breaching the law and that the ministry of labour have failed to enforce the minimum wage. The union, which represents about 3 700 workers nationwide, is adamant to change the current state of working conditions of security guards in Namibia.
