I joined both my final DiRT Rally 2.0 championship and the final WBL Rally Club Championship, as EA has decided to shut down the Rally Clubs servers, effectively ending one of the best ways for communities and groups of friends to organize and compete in rally championships together. The farewell championship opener takes us to the legendary roads of Monte Carlo in the fearsome Group B RWD class, and there was only one choice for me the iconic Lancia 037. From the very first stage, this combination delivered exactly what Group B rallying is all about: narrow roads, ice patches, huge commitment, and a car that demands your full attention every second of the run. The rally was far from perfect. I had a few runoffs, some close calls, and even picked up a 10-second start penalty after trying to adjust my seating position before a stage. Still, considering the combination of Group B RWD, Monte Carlo's mixed-surface conditions, and the championship's hardcore damage settings, the mistakes were relatively minor and never turned into a terminal-ending disaster. More importantly, I enjoyed every kilometer of the rally. The Lancia 037 remains one of the purest and most demanding rally cars ever created. It rewards commitment but punishes hesitation instantly, requiring complete focus from start to finish. Blink at the wrong moment, and the car will remind you who's really in control. At the time of recording, I'm currently the only driver to have completed the event, so I'm temporarily holding provisional P1, although the final result is still far from decided. Conclusion: A fitting way to start the final WBL DiRT Rally 2.0 championship.
