It's only 5 minutes, but it offers so much vital information. I often see patients with tumors of the pharynx and larynx. Actually, "throat" isn't a scientific term. A person has a #pharynx and #larynx. But in everyday life, we call it the throat. Some patients arrive on time and their tumors are detected early, while others, unfortunately, present at a late, advanced stage. Therefore, we will discuss pharyngeal and laryngeal cancer and the 5 most characteristic signs of pharyngeal and laryngeal cancer that will alert you to something amiss and prompt you to see a doctor. I will also discuss three clear signs that indicate a late stage. These are when you should immediately call the doctor, otherwise the patient's life is in danger. I would like to draw your attention to the signs I will discuss – their significance increases the longer a particular symptom persists. For example, if you first lost your voice after a cold, it is most likely a common infection that will resolve within 1-2 weeks, and there is no need to panic. However, if this voice change persists for more than 2 weeks, or even a month or months, it is a worrying symptom. It means you're having difficulty swallowing food, especially hard foods. Now, to swallow, you need to drink some water. You feel the food bolus moving down your throat and esophagus. You experience discomfort you didn't have before. In more advanced cases, a piece of food may become stuck in the esophagus. I should note that these symptoms are probably more characteristic of esophageal cancer than pharyngeal cancer.
