Italian company Iveco has introduced the latest version of its best-selling Daily to the Brazilian market. The new 35-160 model arrives with several mechanical upgrades, including a new engine and chassis, which guarantee a new and higher GVW (Gross Technical Weight), as well as improvements in technology and safety. The new engine developed by FPT Industrial exclusively for the model, the F1C MAX, is a 4-cylinder that delivers 160 hp at 3,500 rpm and 38.7 kgfm of torque at 1,600 rpm, with an economical fuel consumption range between 1,500 rpm and 2,400 rpm. The engine also features a new variable geometry turbocharger (GVT), which delivers more torque at low revs, and a Common Rail electronic fuel injection system. According to Iveco, this engine, combined with new technologies, delivers up to 6.1% fuel savings compared to its predecessor, which powered the Daily 35.150. Another new feature of the engine is the oil pan, which now holds 9.3 liters, a 34% increase over the previous version. The increased lubricant volume has extended the maintenance interval from 15,000 to 30,000 kilometers. Another new feature is the chassis, which now features 5-millimeter crossmembers, giving the model an additional 200 kilograms of payload (Technical GVW) compared to the previous version, reaching 4,400 kg.
