Retiring to the glens : Overcoming the fear on my first solo wild camp

In my 60th year, this is my first ever solo wild camp and its fair to say that when I set off I was filled with excitement, trepidation and anxiety. We are Kath and Sue and, following retirement travelled the UK with our dog Fudge, living full time in our Burstner Elegance Motorhome. We gave up conventional living for van-life, enjoying the freedom of the road spending plenty of time outdoors taking in the beautiful countryside the UK has to offer…. Well that was until, with the help of the BBC’s Escape to the Country, we found a place that stole our hearts in the Highlands of Scotland, and we decided to make this our home.
