We begin a new series of videos — a road journey from Rzeszów, Poland, through Slovakia to the Ukrainian border! 🚗💨 Our adventure starts in Rzeszów. Today it is a dynamic regional center, but right beneath our wheels lies a real underground city — a network of medieval labyrinths and ancient merchant cellars. Once, these served as a frontier fortress where residents sought refuge from raids, and merchants stored goods from all over the East. Even today, forgotten passages and ancient fortifications are being discovered here — in Rzeszów, history is literally under your feet. We head onto the DW878 route to the sounds of energetic Polish folklore. The sky is overcast, and the air is filled with a crisp October freshness. The first leg ends in the ancient town of Tyczyn, founded in 1368. In the Middle Ages, it was a vital trading hub on the famous "Hungarian Way." It was here that knightly caravans and merchants carrying goods from the Adriatic once rested. The early October landscapes and the first raindrops on the glass add a special coziness to this stretch. This historic merchant town (pop. ~4,000) is behind us.
