While both the Charge 4 and the Flip 5 are single driver speakers, the improvements made to the one-inch passive radiators on the JBL Flip 5 give it the ability to pump out bass that rivals the larger JBL Charge 4. The Charge 4 does output 30 watts while the Flip 5 only kicks out 20 watts, which helps the Charge 4 ultimately reach a higher volume. Now let's do a sound comparison where we'll listen to 30 seconds of four different types of songs on each device at a volume level of 80 percent to test how each speaker handles high, mid, and low tones at higher volumes.
