BREAKING: Brush fire destroys homes in Utah town; Flash flooding prompts evacuations

Wildfires and flash flooding are plaguing areas of Utah this week. In Roy, a wildfire destroyed multiple homes. Fire officials said three homes were destroyed in a brush fire that spread through a Roy neighborhood, leaving families to deal with significant damage as investigators work to determine what caused the fire. Joseph Lassine showed 2News the damage from his backyard and said the fire came dangerously close to his home. "It was coming right here, and the tree was already on fire," Lassine said as he pointed to the burn scar. Lassine said firefighters were able to stop the flames from reaching his home. The National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for the area along the Cottonwood Fire burn scar just days after severe floods damaged property and infrastructure. The warning was issued just before 6 a.m. on Tuesday for the area along the burn scar in west-central Piute County and east-central Beaver County. This prompted an immediate evacuation order for those within a quarter mile of the Beaver River, including the Grove area.
