The Secret to Growing Food All Year Round on Lagos Island in myPrevention Is Better Than Cure Garden

In this episode of my “Prevention Is Better Than Cure” Home Food Garden, I’m sharing how I grow fresh food all year round here on Lagos Island, Nigeria. Come along as I care for my seedlings, celebrate my beautiful cauliflower harvest, transplant Chinese cabbage and zucchini, prepare new garden beds with cured poultry manure, propagate marigolds from stem cuttings, harvest one of my biggest sunflower heads for future planting, and share the exciting moment my turkeys begin laying eggs. I’ll also take you through my beloved Ugu (fluted pumpkin) garden , there’s a personal story about why this incredible vegetable means so much to my family. It’s a reminder that growing healthy food is about more than harvesting vegetables—it’s about caring for the people we love. If you’ve ever wondered whether you can grow your own food in a small space or all year round, I hope this video inspires you to start. Every harvest begins with one seed, and every small garden has the power to nourish a family.
