Trains at Arthur's Pass Village New Zealand 2025

Hi and welcome to this presentation of various trains in action around the alpine village of Arthur's Pass that is located in the spectacular Arthur's PassNational Park in Southern Alps mountain range on the South Island of New Zealand. The Arthur's Pass station sits at 737 meters above sea level and is the highest operating station on the KiwiRail network on the South Island of New Zealand. this video was recorded in May 2024 and captures various KiwiRail train movements including the TranzAlpine tourist train that runs between Christchurch and Greymouth along with east and west bound freight and coal trains along with the Dx class locomotives that bank trains between Otira and Arthur's Pass village providing extra power and breaking through the steeply graded ottar Tunnel that runs through the Southern Alps linking the West Coast to the East Coast.
