https://buymeacoffee.com/hisrep We tell the untold history of the Belfort / Belfry in Bruges / Brugge, België / Belgium. The building was built the first time in 1240 and improved in 1280. After its city treasures and archives were destroyed in a fire it was restored in 1288, and slowly the people of Bruges let their tower grow. Linen, wool and cloth industry emerged and Bruges became maybe the most important economic centre in northwest Europe. We cover its treasuse chest, the statue of Our Lady, and uncover that the biggest musical box in the world is behind the sound of the towers city bells!
