Moscou récupère des sites religieux à Nice, au grand dam de l’Association cultuelle orthodoxe russe

Since the mid-2000s, the Russian state has launched a vast operation to reclaim Orthodox parishes across Europe. Some have broken away from the Moscow Patriarchate over time, and lawsuits are now pitting the Russian Federation against the associations that, during the Soviet era, administered these churches. In Nice, last April, a French court awarded ownership of an Orthodox church and a historic Russian cemetery to Russia, to the detriment of the Russian Orthodox Religious Association (Acor). Its parishioners are struggling to accept the fact that, amid the war against Ukraine, France is siding with the Russian state. The descendants of the Russian tsars, on the other hand, are delighted with this decision.
