Oyster Farming, It is for you?

“Oyster farming, is it for you”. This presentation will provide an overview of some of the tools and resources available for those interested in starting and operating a commercial oyster farm. Though the focus is on oysters and small farm operators, many of the concepts and resources apply to other farmed aquatic species as well other types of businesses. The goal is to provide those interested with the tools and training for the best opportunity for commercial success. Russell “Rusty” Grice is an Aquaculture Business Specialist for the Alabama Cooperative Extension Systems working primarily with those interested in or already operating a commercial oyster farm.
