How I learned Vibrato as an Adult beginner violinist

In this video I talk about my experience and my approach to learning how to play the violin with vibrato. I am still learning to master this technique but this is my progress so far. I wanted to share my experience and hopefully give you some insight to what it's really like to learn such a challenging technique. Here's a summary of the top tips I have picked up along the way: 1. Study your hands and pay close attention to the flexibility of your knuckles when you are opening and closing them. 2. Have a good set up with your instrument (chin rest and shoulder rest). 3. Bring your elbow forward.. your double stops will thank you later =) 4. I talk about the vibrato mechanics and how to do the motion. 5. Self-awareness is a must. Especially if you are doing this on your own.. 6. Enjoy the ride. It takes a long time to learn and develop this technique but it sure is the most rewarding thing once you get the hang of it. A must see if you are just starting out..
