भू - आकृति विज्ञान भू - आकृति विज्ञान पृथ्वी के सभी बड़े तथा छोटे स्थलरूपों का तथा उन स्थलरुपों को निर्मित करने वाले आन्तरिक और वाह्य प्रक्रमों का वैज्ञानिक अध्ययन है | वृहद स्थलरूपो में पर्वत श्रेणियॉ, पठार तथा मैदान आते है ,मध्यम स्थलरूपों में नदी घाटी , कार्स्ट घाटी ,बीच इत्यादि आते है | जबकि सूक्ष्म स्थलरूपों में नीक प्वांइट रिफिल तथा पुल ,रील इत्यादि आते हैं । ये स्थलरूप विभिन्न आन्तरिक बलों जैसे - पटलविरूपणी , पर्वत निर्माणकारी महादेशजनक ,उन्मज्जन ,निमज्जन ,सम्पीडनात्मक तथा तनावमूलक बलों द्वारा उत्पन्न होते है । बाह्य बलों में प्रमुख है विभिन्न अपक्षय जैसे -भौतिक , रसायनिक तथा जैविक | अन्य प्रक्रम अपरदनात्मक है । जैसे -जलीय ,वायुढ़ , हिमानी ,पारिहिमानी ,कार्स्ट तथा समुद्री । भू - आकृतिक ज्ञान का मानवहित के लिए प्रयोग भू - आकृतिक विज्ञान का एक वैज्ञानिक पहलू है। GEOMORPHOLOGY Geomorphology is the scientific study of all the major and minor landforms and all the endogenic and exogenic land sculpturing process on the earth. Major landforms are mountain ranges, plateau and plains. Medium landforms are river valleys , karst valleys and beaches etc. Micro landforms are knick points, riffle- pools, rills etc. These landforms are generated by different endogenic forces like diastrophic, orogenic, epeirogenic, emergence, submergence, compressional and tensional. In exogenic forces main are weathering like physical, chemical and biological. The other are erosional processes like fluvial, aeolian, glacial, peri - glacial, karst and marine.
