Today's program will discuss the pituitary gland, the size of a pea. It is considered the master gland of the human body, regulating several hormones, including those responsible for growth and ovulation. When a pituitary tumor appears, it is usually benign. The problem is that diagnosis is not always easy, and delays can have consequences. Guests: endocrinologist Nina Muzolino, director of the Neuroendocrinology Department of the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism; and neurosurgeon Pedro Paulo Mariani, a pituitary specialist at the Brazilian Society of Neurology.
