Armed with snow tires, rally lights, and stubborn optimism, we set out to chase four elements across the state—steam, earth, ice, and snow—across some of the most extreme terrain and unpredictable weather in the lower 48. From historic hot springs in Steamboat, to red rock deserts buried in snow, to icy alpine canyons in Ouray, this unlikely 911 faces mechanical setbacks, high-altitude passes, and more than a few moments of doubt. But in the end, we don’t just survive—we prove that joy, agility, and adventure don’t require a lifted truck. They just require a little faith—and maybe a CB radio.
