In Lăpușnicu Mare, the locals sacredly preserve the custom of consecrating the holdings, a tradition passed down from generation to generation, meant to bring blessing to the land and abundant fruit to people's households. To the sound of church bells, the faithful set off in procession towards the cross erected at the entrance to the village, carrying icons, church flags and green branches of lime and walnut, symbols of the Pentecost holiday. In this place full of faith, the priest officiates the service of Aghesma Mici and says prayers for the protection of the holdings, orchards and gardens, but also for the health and well-being of the community. A special moment of the service is the Prayer of Saint Tryphon, the protector of agricultural crops, which asks for the protection of crops from drought, diseases and pests. It is an old custom that recalls the close connection between man, nature and God, respectfully preserved by the inhabitants of this area. At the end, people receive ears of wheat and blessed leaves, which they take home as a sign of divine protection and hope for a fruitful year. Fountains, gates and households are decorated with green branches, and families gather around the table, transforming the holiday into a true celebration of faith, community and tradition. In a world in constant change, Lăpușnicu Mare demonstrates that authentic values ​​are not lost, and the traditions that have united generations continue to endure, providing identity and soul to the community of Valea Almajului.
