Following dubplate sessions with Spooky, Slimzee and Kahn & Neek, we decided we had to check out the formidable collection of vinyl purist Riz La Teef. Riz started DJing at 18, when his flatmate went overseas for a month and left his low-tech belt drive turntables out in the open. He now cuts his own dubplates at London’s Transition Mastering and Music House every week, seeking out the best instrumentals and vocals from MCs like Riko Dan, AJ Tracey and Lady Chann to play in the club and on his Radar Radio show. Riz is a real dubplate taste-maker if there ever was one, and above you can watch him mix his most prized dubplates from the basement of Radar’s London HQ.
