Key facts
The idea of teaching just one fact about each of the numbers up to 10 is in order to reduce a child's need to memorise number facts. The key facts that I choose to teach my pupils are the doubles and near-double facts. In this video you will see me using Cuisenaire rods to model the key component facts up to 10.
